Hello, I live in Jordan Lane, and was wondering what number your grandparents lived in and at what dates. A friend remembers visiting them in the lane.
Hello Judy – Jim and Helen lived at 8 Jordan Lane on the ground floor. I’m not sure what date they moved there, but I visited them in 1974 – while Jim was completing “A Way of Life” – and again in 1984 to see Jim – Helen died in ’77. Jim lived at Jordan Lane until a few years before his death in 1990; he moved to my aunt’s house in Albert Terrace.
I have a few photos of Jim on the back balcony of Jordan Lane in 1984 with his granddaughter. I will email them to you shortly. I don’t know if there are any of Helen there.
